about

#32 Album of the Year
“Distant and foggy post-rock, arriving in hazy waves of doomed riffs and ghostly chants. The album commits to a purposeful pace and focus; rather than wandering, it guides. Droning smoke rings of rising tension and release, a healing ray of amber light.”
- Dark Iron AOTY

“There’s so much to love on Epopteia, and I won’t attempt to list them all here. I heavily suggest you give them a serious, focused listen and make up your mind on the music of Telesterion.”

“Impressive and immersive, Epopteia should be the vehicle that drives Telesterion to wider, deserved acclaim.” 4/5

“Epopteia is an exceptional record if you're looking for an ideal soundtrack to an ancient Greek mythological film such as Clash Of The Titans. If not, and you're still in the mood for some epic symphonic post/doom metal, then this could be your answer."

“Telesterion are a mysterious psychedelic/post rock band whose country of origin and members are unknown (they all use ancient pseudonyms), but it is known that since 2022, when the entity officially became active, four albums have already been released. The fifth and current one is also called Epopteia and offers a very pleasant program of ethereal psychedelic rituals based partly on Aegean harmonic scales, played slowly, with dignity. The music is excellent, the production not necessarily ideal - the album sounds like it was recorded in a practice room with microphones picking up other instruments and heavy gating/compressions needed to compensate - but the record is certainly characterized by a serious ambition to achieve a meditative atmosphere and maybe spiritual rapture. Harmonious, dreamy vocals especially contribute to this atmosphere. Worth every attention.”
- Cvecezla (Croatia)

“The mystery that is Telesterion continues to grow as does their reputation for creating huge visual soundscapes that inspire to create a sense of wonder and majesty. Mesmerizing and authentic, it is earthen yet ethereal, true musical accomplishment that defies description and the boundaries of genre. Simply unmissable.” 9.5/10
